(Beijing, China) On the afternoon of the day before yesterday, Peace Street residents Wu and wife Liu had an argument over some trivial matter like whose turn it was to take out the garbage. The conflict quickly turned physical. Fearing an all-out defeat and ever being the cool-headed one, Liu had the presence to dial 110 for police. The People's cops arrived on scene in no time and now the couple has agreed to disagree. Meanwhile, another couple was exchanging some unkind words between themselves inside a hair salon at a Big Hope Bridge location in the Morning Sun District. A passer-by, and a curious one, too, watched the drama unfolding through the shop window. The husband fumed at this gratuitous invasion of privacy and dashed outside to give the peeping Tom a jolly good beating. For sure, the two street battles that would earn the scorn of serious brawlers the most happened in the Middle Fortress Village area and near the west entrance to Snowing Silver Edifice. Han had a stealthy rendezvous at a 320 bus depot to pick up an illicit shipment from a fellow who makes a living by hawking bootleg CDs. An altercation arose when some manufacturing defects were discovered on the CDs. Now that was an insult. As they say, there is honor among thieves, let alone pirated CD peddlers. Despite the thick foot traffic, the duo dueled it out as if it were a Tyson-Holyfield rematch, post-ear-biting-era. A passer-by, a Samaritan this time, called 110, thinking he was about to witness a homicide. The fighting men barely escaped prosecution for illegal trade in contrabands by taking leave of each other at the sound of police siren. The confrontation at Snowing Silver's west entrance materialized when Li, a worker at Mo's Import Auto Repair, and Wang, employment status unknown, collided with each other at walking speed, resulting in breakage of fibers on their respective outer clothing. Angry words, then angrier fists, flew freely. They now both have black and blue noses and puffy and shiny faces. Other losses include superficial cuts.
According to an incompleted account, about 300 incidents were reported to the Beijing police HQ that day, half of which were free-for-alls involving good-for-nothings. The Psychological Counselling Department of All My Good Comrades Hospital informs that the number of patients seeking mind care increases by 30% since the beginning of the spring.
Dr. Xu says, We, the People, get all excited when plants start to copulate, germinate, and pollinate. The arrival of springtime seems to be an excuse for nerve cells of all shades to become wanton and reckless. Although science can't tell us why, the vernal season sees more production of crazy nuts than any other.
Concerned parties remind citizens of this fine city: when push comes to shove, pull back your punches.

“in”也可与“daytime”和“night-time”连用。
I'll send the cheque round on Monday.
Pentonville Prison was set up on Boxing Day, 1842.
...the grey suit Elsa had bought for him on his birthday.
He dided on the Friday and was buried on the Sunday.
It is unlucky to cut your nails on a Friday.
...at 2:30p.m. on a calm afternoon.
There was another important opening on the same evening.
When she arrived the court on the morning of the event, her voice had vanished.
It's terribly good of you to turn out on a night like this.

窃以为文中用in the afternoon of the day before yesterday恐怕也可以。

It has captured the humor and mocking quality of the original, and you have shown yourself a master of the colloquial, and of bilingual skills.
Here are a couple of minor suggestions for your reference:
>the two street battles that would earn the scorn of serious brawlers the most happened in the Middle Fortress Village area and near the west entrance to Snowing Silver Edifice.
the two street battles that would MOST earn the scorn of serious brawlers took place in the Middle Fortress...
>According to an incompleted account, about 300 incidents were reported to the Beijing police HQ that day,
an incomplete account
>the number of patients seeking mind care increases by 30% since the beginning of the spring.
has increased

1)Wu and his wife。
2)some trivial matterS
3)110 for thepolice。
4)on thescene,
6)用“another couple was having another quarrel inside…”
不过,窃以为“earn most the…”
11)“Now that”与“Now, that”不同。
12)foot traffic?
应为“in contraband”。

>1)Wu and his wife。
I thought about using Wu and his wife Liu, but was't sure if residents or resident should precede it. Well, actually, the singular form is out of the question, as using it would imply only Wu is a Peace Street resident. But if it's residents, the fragment should read "...residents, Wu and his wife Liu, ..." I decided to compact it into the current form. 的关系,如果是“Wu and his wife”的话,读的人可能认为同位的只是Wu,而且and是来连接“resident(s) Wu”和“(his) wife Liu”。 And, why capitalize wife?
2)some trivial matterS
我是在说“that certain travial matter”,而like后面的“whose turn it was”是一对一的猜测或陈述,而不是多对一的举例。 Some guy called me today and said I owned him money. What nerve!
3)110 for thepolice。
4)on thescene,
6)用“another couple was having another quarrel inside…”
It might be misconstrued as "the couple was having another one of their [many] arguments."
我猜想大望桥其实是地名,所以,“a Big Hope Bridge location”好像是说“a Manhattan location”。
不过,窃以为“earn most the…”
He earns the most money in the family.)
11)“Now that”与“Now, that”不同。
12)foot traffic?
改为 narrowly或改为“was able to escape”并在“by taking”前加only ?
应为“in contraband”。

Sentence Fragments
A sentence fragment is a clause or phrase that does not form a complete sentence but is punctuated as though it does. Fragments are often used in informal correspondence or fiction, particularly in dialogue to communicate halting speech. In formal writing, however, they should be rewritten as complete sentences or attached to another related sentence.
The easiest fragments to identify are phrases that do not include a subject-verb combination.
Incorrect: The party was a great success. The best one ever.
Correct: The party was a great success. It was the best one ever.
Or: The party was a great success—the best one ever.
Some fragments, however, are dependent clauses. A dependent clause has a subject and verb, but it must be linked to an independent clause to form a complete sentence (see Clauses and Phrases).
Incorrect: Frederick wrote the letter. Because he needed to tell her how he felt.
Correct: Frederick wrote the letter. He needed to tell her how he felt.
Or: Frederick wrote the letter because he needed to tell her how he felt.
To avoid mispunctuation, remember that a clause that begins with a conjunction is usually dependent and therefore cannot stand alone as a sentence.
窃以为,“residents, Wu and his wife”中的“Wu and his wife”无论从句子还是逻辑上看,都是同位的。
2)some trivial matterS
我是在说“that certain travial matter”,而like后面的“whose turn it was”是一对一的猜测或陈述,而不是多对一的举例。 Some guy called me today and said I owned him money. What nerve!
6)用“another couple was having another quarrel inside…”
It might be misconstrued as "the couple was having another one of their [many] arguments."
我猜想大望桥其实是地名,所以,“a Big Hope Bridge location”好像是说“a Manhattan location”。
不过,窃以为“earn most the…”
He earns the most money in the family.)
例句中“the most money”中的“most”是代词,意谓“He earns more than any others do”。如:The storm did (the) most damage to the houses on the cliff(=it damaged them more than any other houses)(《朗文当代高级英语辞典》)
The house (which is) ablaze is next door to mine.
The boats (which were) afloat were not seen by the bandits.
The men (who were) present were his supporters.
The people (who were) involved were not found.
the involved party, the concerned parties.
