and more such hint would make someone ridiculously jealous:-) We all miss the same friend who I assume has been with us under different pennames, playing hide and find with us. It's fun.
虽然我读出 美洲的清冽--Yes, in terms of New Continents, very similar! 与非洲的灼热--Sure, the summer heat is still lingering on the other side of the equator.
您和欧洲的典雅相伴吗--Close, because most of the settlers there are from Europe. 您似乎携裹更多的 亚洲的风情--Sure, since the poet wrote in Chinese!
When no news of you came, The world was void 'n empty. The moon was blurred, The sun also blurry.
When no news of you came, My heart was heavy 'n filled. Inside t'was nobody but you, Outside t'was only you still.
When no news of you came, The night seemed so long. So cold when I had a dream, Still cold without a dream.
When no news of you came, I found myself cross 'n cranky. I knew t'was you who was loving me, yet It was also you who'd thrown me into misery.
With ME brought into this world already, Why should YOU be around to pester me?!
But I think we've had some exchanges already. Thanks for translating An Irish Blessing. (I guess that excellent translation is from you! I'm thrilled! And certainly I'm the Zhufu person). Yesterday I was Hen Gan Dong to your touching poem "When No News of You Came". Your personality and your expertise in English and Chinese have made you a star in our eyes! Delighted to meet you!
Is it a case of great minds think alike that you also guessed the Zhixie is tian xin or a case of leak of secrete information, I thought I was the only one who guessed that. And also the wu li kan hua. It could be no other person but her. “很感动”,大虾的不是,Xiao3 Yu2 的干活。
Thank you Beimei and XY (black-eyed swan-upon-Avon:) for your delicious poems and translations. I am very touched and feel flattered to be attributed with those big names and quality contributions. But this present posting 猜猜我是谁 was my first posting for the last month. I shall have a look at the translations mentioned and see who could be a replica of tian xin;)
By the way, I do remember Beimei for his/her emendations of my translation of 天若有情天亦老 before my China trip, hence my belated thanks and greetings:)
