　　复旦本乃全国名校之一，但现在这里所发生着的事情却让人困惑和怀
疑。无奈，所以本人只能投书与您，求您为我解惑了。鄙人在3月18日有关
岗位聘任的会议上发言，要求对教师专业水平进行公开、合理和量化的鉴
定。教师最起码的是正确讲解其所使用的教材，所以本人指出，全体教师
有权根据所用教材相互公开质疑，并以各自解答质疑的正确率高低作为衡
量各自相对业务水平的关键指标之一。

　　当下我校学术风气腐败，有借职务之便将教师们数年所出学生试卷合
钉成书大量出版以求名、利而事先不取得教师本人同意如余建中者；有粗
制滥造炮制教材如前大学英语部主任陆效用者[陆在任期间主编了《研究生
英语》一书，内有汉译英句子"他如此贪婪，连自己女儿的钱也要赚。"此
句在书中答案处被译成了"He is so greedy that he even tries to make
money out of his own daughter."
，而此句英语倒译为汉语，则可成"他如此贪婪，以至竟想方设法要拿自己
的女儿去赚钱。"（促其卖身乎？]；又有因大量抄袭国内外学术著作而被
北京语言学院专家伍铁平教授大量举证后列到中国"文抄公"排行榜上的我
校某系某教授者（某出版社出版了伍教授这一有关发行排行榜的著作。此
书不久前复旦周围书店有售)在如此情况下，单以某人论文、著作发表数量
及其发表或出版的刊物或出版社的等级已根本无从让人信服此人的学术水
准。据此，我提出最合理的莫过大家在指定时间和地点各撰论文一篇以明
辨学术水平之高下。但余建中从我发言一开始便多次粗暴打断我，并无知
地指责我，说我以前讲"We are many, they are few." 这样的英语是错的
是胡乱挑剔专家。我想问，既然此句可以作为语法教学中的正确例句（余
建中大教授说这个句子在雪莱的一首诗里有。好！那么我们请教一下，雪
莱的这一行诗句你余大教授会解释吗？如果不会，倒不妨不要为了那竞争
岗位的5分积分而再给研究生们开什么课了，还是回炉"一下吧。因为你余
大教授那天在会上不是说了嘛，"上研究生课程和上本科生课程是质与量的
区别。"如果我研究生课不会上，至少雪莱的这句诗我能解。而你呢？），
那么我们是否也完全可以说"The books on the desk are many." 是对的（
而实际上连小学英语教师都知道这是绝对错误的），而There are many
books on the table.则是错的？（而这连小学生都知道是对的。）

　　我搞研究本不为和人比高低或扬名，因为连中国读书人的祖宗孔夫子
也一生"述而不作"，后世的不肖子孙们动辄一写就一大摞书，不是为了沽
名钓誉,还能是为了什么？所以，如若余大教授这等人不服，我可以当场口
头就"Weare many, they are few." 中的"many"的解释与他们展开学术辩
论。然而即使我不费吹灰之力而驳倒他们，我也并不是因为属意于什么"关
键岗位"而这样做。以明心迹，我现在就可以申明，余建中如果能在这个问
题上证明我的论点错误，我可以因之连现有的副教授都辞去。原因在于，
本来，我最重要的岗位是在讲台前，学生对我的钦佩，就是他们给予我的
最为珍贵的回报。如果现在我连这样的小问题都"拎不清"，我又有何颜再
站在这讲台上！但如果你余建中连这么一个小问题都解决不了，你又该如
何"自我了断"呢？余大教授，我在大学英语部设下"擂台"，恭候你三天，
请你来辩论。你若自觉不行或胆怯，也可以请出你的师傅或同盟者来一起
上。但三天过后，你就算自己认输了。
所以，此后余大教授这等人若仍能被聘得"关键岗位"，领导们办事的原
则就令我大惑不解了。这样的话，到时我就要将他们在各类书中的问题公
诸于众，以为复旦"宣传"他们，并为复旦"光耀门面"。

　　此件将通过适当途径上呈李岚清和陈至立同志，因为或许此举将有助
于高校和学术界中的反腐和其中的党员干部的"三讲"工作。
我这样做只有一个目的--反"学术腐败"！

　　从语法上分析，“many”是形容词，形容词作表语（或主语补足语）是理所当然的事。要找这种例子也不难（很遗憾，找不到雪莱的）：
