电台里常播放的一个乡村歌曲《26 Cents》实在太好听，内
容是说女儿高中毕业后离家读数，妈妈没有多少钱能让女儿带走，
就在旧信封里放了2毛6分钱，让女儿孤独的时候打电话回家。
我听了好多遍，听着听着，就想到了自己，眼泪也止不住，就流
下来啦。想买CD寄回家，可是家里人听不懂。想译成中文吧，我
是学工科的，实在译不出那样的境界来。想请这里的哥哥姐姐帮
忙，译成好读的东东。先谢谢大家啦。

Only "There's nothing I got that I wouldn't give" makes sense here. Besides, there's a typo: "Taped to and old wrinkled note" should read "Taped to an old wrinkled note".
This IS a touching little song I like, too. The translations above are great. But if we are to consider SINGING it in Chinese to its original tune, I'm afraid it needs a little more work. I'd love to try sometime if time permits.

繁重公务在身，这两周我会特别忙，实在无法分身仔细推敲。自己动手译就更谈不上，何来什么您“抢先”之有？ 看了您的翻译，很好，谢谢，但明显看出您是没听过这首歌。要是熟悉歌曲，您绝对会译出完全不一样的大作的。我因为熟悉该曲，所以显得挑剔些，请别介意。
英汉互译歌词，首先要考虑音节相当，否则绝对无法唱。不论熟悉不熟悉原曲都非做到这点不可。您试图按原音节数配译文，路子无疑是对的。但您的译文大多还无法唱，为什么呢？即使您不会唱原歌，如果您注意了英语原词各个词儿的音节轻重，在汉语遣词时充分考虑对应，效果肯定大不相同，以这样弄出来的译文为基础，让会唱歌的自己去略作调整，就容易多了，唱出点“味道”的把握就更大。回忆一下大家熟悉的外国翻译歌曲，如“鸽子”、“国际歌”、“莫斯科郊外的晚上”等等，唱得顺溜无不因为轻重缓急照顾得好。
时间 不允许，不能全评。以下仅用您的一段来说明我的意思，说不对就当我没说。

再如 Here's a penny for you thoughts, a quarter for the call, 其中 Here's a 是很弱的，即使是说话，一般也只 占一 个音节，而后头的 Pen 则很重。“给你一分钱来思考”就极难与之相配。
没仔细斟酌，随便把这段译文调整改动如下：

我是给歌词感动的, 想尽力帮帮这一位四位一体的小玲-另一个想妈妈的人-游子-於岚. 不然借我两个胆子也不敢动一首没有听过的歌. 野草君的佳评真是歌词翻译的要义. 我光顾着数音节了, 还有韵脚的开口闭口. 希望有机会见到您的译作和译评, 岂不就是一个歌词翻译的 tutorial! 不过千万别以为要逼您交卷. 我一个"请批"让您要在繁重公务中抢时间作答, 让我于心不安.

按原词音节数试译, 也许您能用中文唱起来, 唱不起来的话, 是因为我没有听过这首歌. 父母在, 不远游, 游必有方. 开心一点, 您的帖会把人搞哭的.
