我从福州读书回来已经有好些日子了，一回到家乡，就觉得一种亲切感油然而生。也许您还记得，我的家乡在厦门。什么时候您能来厦门做客呢？厦门可是个好的放，它是一座美丽的城市，坐落于福建的东南部，鹰厦铁路的终点，如果您在福州，走福厦高速公路只要三个小时左右就可以到了，十分的方便。
厦门是个旅游的好地方，不仅有海、山景为一体、誉为“海上花园”的鼓浪屿，还有集奇花异草怪树、奇峰、美石于一身的厦门植物园，还有香烟缥缈的南普陀寺等等。此外，新建的环岛路、海沧大桥、白鹭洲又成为新的旅游热点。就拿我住的集美来说吧，嘉庚公园、鳄鱼园、龙舟池等等也是人们来厦后的一个旅游热线。可以说，厦门是山美、海美、树美、花美、人更美。
厦门还有很多小吃或土特产。热腾腾的烧肉粽、香喷喷的棉线糊、冰凉凉的土笋冻、鼓浪屿的馅饼、黄则和的年糕、吴再添的花生汤。喔，保管让你吃了后就想留在厦门了。
厦门经济特区发展十分的迅速的同时，也注意把自己装扮的美丽动人，是全国有了名的“卫生城市”，而且这里的气候温暖湿润，是全省甚至全国难得的富饶、平和、文明的好地方，厦门人都为拥有这么好的城市而感到骄傲。

It's been quite a while since I came home from Fuzhou after finishing school. Back at my hometown, everything became so dear to me. You may still remember that my hometown is Xiamen. When do you think you will be visiting Xiamen? Well, Xiamen is a nice place, a very beautiful city in the southeast of Fujian Province. It is the terminal of the Yingtan-Xiamen Railway. From Fuzhou where you are now, it only takes about three hours to get to Xiamen if you come by the Fu-Xia Highway. Very convenient.
Xiamen is a good tourist spot. Here you'll find Gulangyu Island, known as the "Garden on the Sea", where the sea and mountain views mingle; the Xiamen Botanical Garden where there is a huge collection of exquisite flowers and plants and rocks; and also the incense-enshrined Nanputuo Buddhist Temple. Besides, the newly built Round-the-Isle Highway, the Haicang Bridge, and the White Egret Isle are all becoming tourist attractions. Take for example the town of Jimei where I live. In here the Tan Kah-kee Garden, The Crocodile Garden, and the Dragon Boat Pond are all on the list of hot spots for tourists. Anyway, Xiamen IS beautiful - the mountains, the sea, the trees, the flowers, and of course the people, who are even more so.
Xiamen also boasts a great variety of local produce and special goodies. The steaming hot pork Zongzi (sticky rice with pork fillings wrapped with bamboo leaves), the yummy sticky fine noodles (Mianxian Hu??), the chilled bamboo shoot jelly, the Gulangyu pies, the Wong's glutinous cake, and the Go-for-more peanut soup, � Well, well, you just have a taste of them and I bet you won't want to leave Xiamen any more!
To keep pace with the rapid economic development in the city, Xiamen has been at pains to keep itself beautiful and attractive. It has become a well-known City of Cleanliness in China. With a climate warm and humid, Xiamen has abundant vegetation. It is peaceful and culturally highly cultivated. It would not be easy to find a better city in the province or even in the country, much to the pride of the people of Xiamen.
You are always welcome to Xiamen for a visit, my dear teacher. I will be your best tourist guide, I assure you.

得（de)：用在动词或形容词后面，连接表示结果或程度的补语：隐士真是罗嗦，说得人家烦得不得了。
地(de)：助词，表示它前边的词或词组是状语：隐士老是自以为是地找人家的岔。

“做”与“作”通。此外，楼上的“的”与“得”亦通，不过，今人多数倾向于将其区分开来罢了。

与翻译无关。 1990年去汕头大学应聘试讲， 一下汽车就被抢劫了， 于是断了去那工作的念头。 随后取道厦门， 南昌， 武汉回京。 到厦门， 倒的确感到那的人似乎比广东的待人热情一些。 当然， 一件事不足以谈褒贬， 但我们日常生活中， 往往是根据自己的生活中的一件小事推而及他的。
今天和一位同事说起此事， 他告诉我， 同是福建人， 闽北和闽南大不一样。 他说福州人不好， 闽南人好。我没去过福州， 不敢评论。
当然， 这些都是generalization， 都有反例。

I tried several times to come when the forum crashed. Then I stopped trying and had no idea when it came back. When you have stopped doing something, you tend to become lazy to resume. It is not because I have been engaged in other things. I wish I could make some money somewhere, but I have no way. Hun4 bei!
