1. choose a topic that relates to one of the specified topics covered in the subject you are studying. 2. apply the issue to real situations 3. try to focus on a narrow issue that you can explore thoroughly, rather than trying to cover a big issue in a superficial manner. For example:
· International Contracts · Intellectual property · Ethics in international business · Resolution for disputes in international business
A term paper is generally graded on the following criteria:
1. degree of clarity; 2. depth of your answer and coverage of topic; 3. your demonstration of an understanding of issues related to the topic discussed; 4. the extent of research manifested; 5. ability to analyse and draw valid conclusions from material examined; and 6. overall structure of the paper
(i) The effect on local cultures as a consequence of International Trade. (E.g., you can discuss the effect on Chinese eating habits as a result of MacDonalds, Pizza Huts etc.. coming to China. Or the push by tobacco company brining their instruments of death to other countries.
(ii) Is English becoming the de facto Lingua Franca of International Trade ?
(iii) How to promote Internation trade without harming local economies. (E.g. Will shifting of manufacturing from high local labour cost to another country of low labour cost affect the community where the jobs would be lost ? )
(iv) Strange local customs and protocols: How knowing and not knowing local customs and protocols can affect Internation trade negotiation.
