Someone sent me an email asking a question from the captioned site: Why are most Americans politically passive? Here is my answer for you to read for fun:
That is because you Americans never experienced any foreign invasion. You never have a political party that requires you to discuss political issues. You are a free country, so quite some people engage in the stuff shown in some low taste talk shows. You are no philosophers. You never worry about the meaning of life, because it is making money and nothing else. Your government actively engages in foreign diplomacy, for your own sake of course, but you people seldom can tell one country from another, unless they are mentioned in CNN. The Americans are very provincial and individualistic, pathetically.

"most" but not "all". But isn't that true for any country, including China ?

I think your view of the American character is extremely moderate

and it applies a fortiori to Aussies. At least the Yanks had the Independence War to start with, the Civil War to grow up, plus the ever so often Monica scandal to dramatize.
Here in Australia, we don't even have a president to love or loathe. :(

The simplicity of Americans and American culture is exceptionally charming and extremely boring.

Not at all. Rather flattered than offended. Thanks!
