couldn't come up with a good word for the other term. What readily comes to mind is "descriptive", as in descriptive grammar/dictionary; but "descriptive" seems rather vague in the present context. "Directive" on the other hand sounds pretty mandatory as well, since to direct is to command, order, rather than give advice. What do you think?
