KENT又来了,这次跟着的是一个上年纪的侍者,who was built along the general lines of Mr. Pickwick。
Can you beat it, sir?

who was built along the general lines of Mr. Pickwick。
Can you beat it, sir?
his·sy fit [híssee fit ] (plural his·sy fits) noun
Southern U.S. tantrum: a temper tantrum
[Hissy of uncertain origin: perhaps a shortening and alteration of hysterical]

1) Can you beat it? (也作:Can you beat that?): 告诉人家事情时的口头语,“你猜怎么着?”,
"Can you beat that? I read my eyes out last night but couldn't pass that stupid
bio exam."
"Can you beat it? There was Graham Greene in Freetown and there was I on the other
side of Africa"
