Statement of beliefs-“信仰声明”?

But Tony is moving toward a major statement of his beliefs.
Statement of belief是否为“信仰声明”?

Chinese pottery and porcelain are great assets in the human treasure of culture and arts. While pottery can be traced back ten thousand years to the primitive age, porcelain was invented nearly four thousand years ago. Chinese pottery and porcelain are time-honored with rich content, an artistically strong national identity and exquisite craftsmanship. China is therefore known in the world as the "Empire of Ceramics."

Ceramics还包含了“陶器”

Ceramics, originally the art of making pottery, now a general term for the science of manufacturing items prepared from soft, earthy materials that are made rigid by high temperatures. Ceramic materials are nonmetallic, inorganic compounds. Ceramics includes the manufacture of earthenware, porcelain, bricks, and some tile and stoneware. Ceramic products include artistic objects, tableware, such utilitarian items as sewer pipe and building walls, and spacecraft componets. Ceramics are widely used as insulators, but a recently discovered class of ceramics displays

You know why?

I changed your 瓷器王国 into 陶瓷艺术帝国 for the following three reasons:
1) China had a number of "kingdoms" before Qin the First Emperor unified China. Ever since then China has remained an empire composed of several kingdoms. Therefore "kingdom" is not the word to describe post-Qin China.
2) China is known not only for its porcelain but pottery as well. So the word "ceramics" better reflects the reality.
3) For another more important reason, the "Empire of Porcelain" can be interpreted to mean an empire as delicate as porcelain which can be easily smashed. While "porcelain" and "pottery" are more associated with ceramic materials and products, the word "ceramics" pertains more to the art or science of "manufacturing items prepared from soft, earthy materials that are made rigid by high temperatures" as defined by your citation above.
Or you may wish to use "Empire of Porcelain Products" but never "Kingdom of Porcelain." Good luck!

At this word, I didn't have time to ponder much,or I simply didn't care a damn of it since the boss of this city of honoured haste of nothing just wants to make haste of collapse. And with 鸡肠 on the display is just more than enough!
Plus, the original is not that of a good one!!!

pottery和porcelain的数,英美有别?
作者:Last Hermit - 1999/11/13 23:14:22

Longman和Cambridge均不约而同地定为U,但
plural potteries
1. Ware, such as vases, pots, bowls, or plates, shaped from moist clay and hardened by heat.
2. The craft or occupation of a potter.
3. The place where a potter works.
Excerpted from The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, Third Edition Copyright ?1992
而porcelains更见诸于:
The finest Northern ceramics are classic wares, including milky-white glazed ware, vividly colored ware, and green-glazed stoneware called celadon, which was shared by both Song dynasties. The Southern Song dynasty contributed its own royal wares, most notably white porcelains. The Southern Song celadons have a subtle bluish-green glaze cherished for the serenity it was thought to evoke. Buddhist monks favored glossy, black-glazed bowls.
Song architecture tended to be refined, and curved roofs, long associated with Chinese architecture, reached their zenith in this period. Pagodas, still major religious structures, were often decorated with complex latticework.

potteries和porcelains代pottery ware和porcelain ware的用法,却见诸于香港出版的考古论文里。
是否,potteries和porcelains不甚为人接受?

Somewhat different...

In "Chinese pottery and porcelain," the singular form refers more to a whole category of craft while the plural form, "potteries" or "porcelains," pertains more to the physical products, and especially different types. It all depends what you're talking about.

Potteries is only found in the Heritage Dictionary within MS Bookshelf, yet never found an example of it, not even in its encyclopaedia. Pottery ware or pottery something used frequently. On the otherhand, porcelains is widely used. Of course, porcelain ware or porcelain something are also used.
