Hi everyone,
Just want to know what the proper translation (read: legalese) is for the Chinese "Fu Qi Gan Qing Po Lie". Would that be "husband-wife (or spousal) feeling breakdown"? Or simply a "break-up of relationship"? This is in the context (sorry I can't write characters) of "You Yu Chang Qi Liang Di Fen Ju, Dao Zhi Fu Qi Gan Qing Po Lie" (As a result of an extended separation, ...).
Many thanks!

As a result of prolonged periods of living in separate places, the relationship between husband and wife broke up.

Yeah!

But没有缘分doesn't necessarily mean "incompatible", the latter mainly refers to "not getting along well". 缘分has more to do with circumstances or fate rather than incompatible types of personality. 没有缘分in this particular case can be translated as "not destined to marry" or "star-crossed" as in the case of Romeo and Juliet.

That's pretty enlightening: what's compatible may not be necessarily destined. Thanks!

To be or not to be, that's no longer a question! For it's already Providentially determined. I'm hopeless!

"It's God's will.""It's devine.""It's providential..."
It's all in the stars.
“That's where our providential contract ends."
