In Forrest Gump, when Forrest's mother referred to the question about stupidity, she said something to him as "Stupid is as stupid does". What does it mean, though? Sorry. A stupid question!
PS: Or is it something like "只有做蠢事的人才蠢"？

Stupid is as stupid does
At least that's what they said about me when I said I wanted my tongue pierced.
But I didn't care what they said and so me and a couple of friends were talking a week
before I actually decided to get it done and to my amazement almost all of the people said
it would be a mistake. But I proved them wrong! It' friday when I decided to do this
tongue piercing...And I told everyone at school that when monday rolled around
I have my pierce, they said "yeah right, whatever" But I did it I was so scared, yet intrigued.
I have seen so many people at my school that has thier tongue pierced, and I find
it incredably sexy. So I figured hey I could do it.I knew better than to ask my parents,
they won't even let me get a second hole in my ears. So I figured that I'd ask this girl
at school if she had any extra jewlery, to my surprise she pulled out a long 14 guage barbell
and said " you can have this, but make sure you steralize it". I grabbed it out of her hand
and was like "WOW". Now I can get what I want! And prove a lot of people wrong!
So I went to a cousins house and got my needle out and prepared myslef, while the barbell
was boiling in the pot. I went in the bathroom and picked a place in the center of my
tongue and made a dot. Then I went into the kitchen and took the barbell out of the water
and put it in a cup full of alcohol. Then I went back into the bathroom and got the needle
and stuck my tongue out and began pushing the needle through my tongue. THAT SHITS
PAINFUL! But I was determined so I kept on pushing, I was pushing the needle futher in
my tongue for about 2 1/2 hrs of nothing but intense pain.
When I got it through to my surprise there was so blood, alot of drool, but no blood. I
figured since there was no blood I did a great job. I left the needle in while I went to get
the barbell. I got the barbell and tried to stick it in, but it wouldn't go... so i had to force it
through the little hole. It hurt so bad. After I got through and cleaned up, I went in the
bathroom and admired my work. Then I went and laid on the couch and passed out.
I woke up when my cousin came home to take me home, the whole way home I didn't say
anything, afraid they'd notice. So when I got home I went to the bathroom to check it out,
it was swelling bad. So I began to eat ice. I rinsed my mouth out with mouth wash every
5hrs. After 3 weeks, the sweeling went down. So I began playing with it.
Everyone at school noticed it and said I was stupid when I told them I did it myself. But
I'm the type of girl that will do anything to get what she wants. After about 3 months my
parents noticed it and made me take it out, but I just went and got another one. And 3
months later they noticed again, and boy did I ever get it! They took that one away and
grounded me for about 5 months, but I got another one!LOL. They can't stop me!They
said that if the catch me again that I would be kicked out of the house, I'm almost tempted
to show them. ANd I've had my tongue ring since I was 16 I'm now 17, and it's not going
anywhere!I can't believe how much fun a tongue ring can be, although I haven't kissed
anyone yet of used it in any way sexually, I still thinkit's a great attention grabber. Alot of
people say I'm crazy for wanting more piercings but I can't help myself I plan on getting
many piercings done, but never one by myself again. I plan on getting my nipples,
eyebrow, naval, and maybe my septum. I'm afraid that they will hurt like hell, so I hope I
can find some one out there that knows alot about piercings and can fill me in on my
curosity. Feel free to email me if u have had any of the things I want done and tell me how
it felt and how to keep it from getting infected. Also I wouldn't recommend that anyone
does a piercing by themselfs, cause I did and it got infected and luckly the infection went
away in a couple of weeks. I would suggest that everyone get thier tongue pierced, it's
something you'll never regret!

不过我的理解正相反，我猜这是指单看事情无法论聪明还是愚蠢，要看谁做的了。心里
的考虑不同(stupid or not stupid)，区分出事情是智是愚，象下棋出招一样。

因此，同一件事，愚蠢与否，全看由谁做，怎么做了。2nd Maybe讲得实在太对了。

也许上面的例子讲得还不够清楚？比如说你好不容易考上哈佛，上了三年，
眼看再过一年就能拿到长春藤学位了，可是你却辍学了。这事在很多人看
来也许很蠢。可是Bill Gates选择了最佳时机并抓住了机遇，就把本来很
蠢的事办得绝顶聪明。
还有一例：喝尿是不是很蠢？可是释家摩尼用它来治病，并成了佛家秘方，

The world is a stage, and we are all players, and have played the part of the fool as well the wise, the good and the not so good. Readiness is all, and if one is given the role of the fool, one will have to accept it and perform it to perfection, then perhaps from the ridiculous may be born something sublime. What has some one just said, "There is only a small step between the wise and the stupid;-)?"

The second Stupid may mean "A Stupid Person". In all, the sentence points out: "Whatever a stupid person does, it is a stupid thing"!
