To the Geoffs

读到甜心帖中的诗，想试译出来。尽管我的宗教观是一飞冲天，没有那么
多盘山路弯弯绕。

忆旧太沉重。还是看俺恶意篡改的手段吧。呵。呵。呵。。。

The Ascending Soul

I died as mineral and became a plant,
I died as plant and rose to animal,
I died as animal and I was man.
Why should I fear? When was I less by dying?
Yet, once more, I shall die as man, to soar
With angels blessed; but even from angelhood
I must pass on; all except God doth perish.
When I have sacrificed my angel soul,
I shall become what no mind e'er conceived.
Oh, let me not exist! For Non-existence
Proclaims in organ tones, "To Him we shall return!"

在黄土中沉睡，在绿叶中苏醒
伴古木横卧，随群兽奔行
腐朽数枯骨，奇妙一新婴
我何惧之有？！当生命日益丰盛
让我再死一次吧！
天使之翼载我蹈云踏风
山川俱废，唯神永生
把肉体摆上死的祭坛
让灵魂冲破思的牢笼
我大声呼喊
用三千支号角的活力
用八万管风笛的热情
“我将与他重逢！”
