“高深”，“肤浅的喜乐、深刻的冷漠”？

1、常能听到，某人“功夫（修养、层次……）很高深”。从字面、物理的角度看，高和深是两个相反方向的度量，怎么译这个“高深”呢？
2、以个人所见到的“肤浅的喜乐、深刻的冷漠”现象也给译一下吧（咱不是想谈政治！）？
