As I understand it, "Be there or be square" is a fixed expression used usually when the speakers involved refer to an event or something that they believe really worth going to. Say, if there is a rave party on Xmas Eve for youths and you happen to be crazy about that, you want your friends to be there with you, too. So you call one of them. Upon agreeing on the time to meet, you say to her: "Right, then, 6 o'clock at the Centre. Be there or be square." This means, maybe jokingly: "I'll see you there, or you're a nerd, a bore, a ..." In Chinese, this may sound like: 够哥们儿的，就非去不可；喂我说，你不去就实在太老土了。
"不见不散", however, may not mean what was referred to above. In most cases, it means little more than "We'll meet as planned any way. If you come late, I won't go away. If you don't see me, I'll wait..." To this effect, I really don't know of any fixed expression in English like our fixed "不见不散" in Chinese. Depending on the situational contexts, it may need to be put in different ways, such as "We'll meet there no matter what, OK?" or "I'll see you there. Don't go away." or whatever.
