Here is an interesting statement found on this morning's Montreal Gazette.
"...political success has a thousand fathers but failure is an orphane."
(Background: The Canadian government announced , a few days ago, that they
were to give millions of dollars of tax breaks to the NHL (Hocky teams).
Amidst growing opposition from tax payer etc.., the government quickly
did an about face and announced they canned the whole thing.)
The way I interprete the sentence is that when there is a successful
political idea, everyone claim to be the "father" of the idea, but
when the idea turns out to be a bomb, no one wants to be
associated with it. Does that sound pretty reasonable ?
