Looks like everytime we hit a 万万 of something, we progress into the next unit; that explains why the Chinese system of nomenclature goes in the order of 10^8. A 万万 is 10^4 x 10^4 or 10^8. The whole idea behind the 10^8 structure is now apparent to me. Thanks.
